Mallorca, the largest of Spain's Balearic Islands, offers an ideal blend of culture, history, and stunning landscapes. If you only have two days, this itinerary ensures you make the most of your trip by combining historical landmarks, charming villages, and some of the most breathtaking beaches in the Mediterranean. Let's dive into the perfect 2-day weekend itinerary for Mallorca with pictures for all stops so you know what to expect when you get there!
Day 1: Exploring Palma & the Charming Villages in the West Coast
Morning: Arrive in Palma de Mallorca, airport at the vibrant capital, and rent your car. This 2-day itineray for Mallorca needed for us to have a car to get around. Start your Mallorca trip with a visit to the iconic Cathedral de Mallorca in Palma. The cathedral has an entry fee of 10€ and there is a big underground parking right across the cathedral. We didn't have any struggle finding parking here; more on the parking situation in Mallorca, coming up later.
This breathtaking Gothic masterpiece, also known as La Seu, towers over the bay and boasts an interior designed by Antoni Gaudí. The church holds relics of clothes of Mother Mary and other saints, something of sentimental value for Christian tourists.
Right across the cathedral is the Palacio Real de La Almudaina, a historic royal palace that offers stunning views and an insight into Mallorca’s regal past.
Afterward, take a leisurely stroll around Palma’s old town, where you’ll find charming alleyways, hidden courtyards, and stylish boutique shops. Stop for a coffee or fresh pastry at a local café and soak in the city’s lively atmosphere.

Afternoon: Leave Palma and drive to Valldemossa, a picturesque village nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Famous for its cobbled streets and serene ambiance, Valldemossa is best known for its Charterhouse of Valldemossa, where composer Frédéric Chopin once stayed. The parking space is limited; it could hold may be 20 - 30 cars, so in summer visiting the village with a car would have been really hard.
Visit the Museo Municipal to explore the village’s artistic heritage. Wander through the charming streets and sample a coca de patata, a traditional Mallorcan pastry. We took a sandwich to go, as we had a bit of a tight schedule ahead of us(we had a sunset to catch later in the day, from a brilliant view point!)

Next, continue your journey to Deià, a bohemian village with a rich artistic legacy. Enjoy a leisurely walk and take in the stunning mountain-meets-sea scenery before heading to Cala Deià, a small but beautiful cove where you can take a short swim in crystal-clear waters.
Good to know: It is important to add that, our parking struggles in Mallorca started at Deià. There was one small parking space thta could hold may be 15 cars and we had to wait for half an hour to get a parking. And we were travelling in October.

Evening: Next up, drive to Sóller, a charming town surrounded by fragrant orange groves. Take a stroll through the old town, visit the Sant Bartomeu Church, and enjoy a relaxed drink in the town square as you watch the famous trams pass by right next to you! If you wish, you can hop on aboard the tram to head to the Sóller port.

If you have time, make your way to the Faro de Formentor, a lighthouse perched on dramatic cliffs with spectacular views over the Mediterranean. Watching the sunset from here was an unforgettable experience on our trip!
Good to know: It gets quite packed leading up to sunset, so keep that in mind if you are driving. We barely made it to the top on time as there was a huge traffic queue along the winding roads. Since we had a small car, we could leave it at the side of the road(without blocking the road) and take the stone path along the rocks to get to the top to watch the sunset from the lighthouse.

After the sunset, we headed to our hotel for the night. We stayed the first night at Inmood Aucanada Hotel, a recently renovated 4-star all-inclusive hotel with brilliant sea view rooms. The property has 4 pools and a beach bar and the breakfast buffet was more than satisfactory.
As we were starving, right sfter checking in at the hotel, we went to have dinner at Alcanada 35 Restaurant, a quick few minutes drive from the hotel. This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel staff and seriously, of all our trips to Spain, hands down, we had the best seafood paella here!

Day 2: Chasing Mallorca’s Best Beaches & Coastal Gems
Morning: Start your day with a visit to the secluded Cala de Na Clara, a hidden paradise known for its pristine waters and peaceful surroundings.
Good to know: These photos are from a view point you can get to by a walking trail, and the beach itself was not something we recommend to hike down to, as there is no sandy shore and just rugged, rocky shores. We did see people kayaking in the water below, and the waters looked secluded, thanks to lack of a proper beach.

Continue the drive to Faro de Capdepera, a picturesque lighthouse offering breathtaking coastal views and a sense of tranquility. Next, explore the Castillo de Capdepera, a medieval fortress that transports you back in time with its rich history and panoramic views of the island’s rugged coastline.
Good to know: The castle has an entry ticket and the view of the surrounding region from up above the castle is highly recommended!

Afternoon: Make your way to Cala Figuera, a charming fishing village with whitewashed houses, colorful boats, and a serene ambiance. We strolled along the waterfront and enjoyed a tapas lunch at a local restaurant, overlooking the sea named Bar Restaurant Bon Bar and took in the idyllic views.

Continue your journey to Cala Mondragó, a protected natural park featuring stunning beaches, lush pine forests, and scenic hiking trails. Spend some time relaxing on the sandy shores or exploring the nearby coastal paths. There are 2 other beaches in this area, and Cala Mondragó is the most popular one.

Before the day ends, visit Calo des Moro, one of Mallorca’s most beautiful(albeit tiny) and photogenic beaches. Tucked between towering cliffs, this hidden gem is famous for its turquoise waters and dramatic scenery.
Good to know: Due to its social media popularity, this beach is impossible to get to in summer, so our advice is to arrive as early as 7-8 AM before it is packed with people. As we visited in October, towards the end of the day the beach barely had anyone. So off season travel to Mallorca may be something to think about.
Evening: Wrap up your Mallorca adventure with a visit to Cala Pi, a stunning beach known for its golden sands, dramatic cliffs, and serene waters. This is the perfect spot to watch the sunset as you reflect on your incredible journey.

For our second night, we stayed at a gorgeous farm Hotel Rural es Riquers
30 minutes away from the airport as we had an early morning flight back home, the next day. The property was vast and beautiful, so serene and clearly popular for weddings. Rooms were traditional and the property has a swimming pool and an onsite restaurant. We had dinner at their restaurant and we highly recommend it. Keep in mind that the restaurant needs a prior reservation. Along with the booking confirmation email, the hotel sends you a request to reserve your preferred menu item for your meal with them. Two days in Mallorca was a little rushed, but offers a perfect mix of cultural exploration, breathtaking landscapes, and beachside relaxation for us city folks who needed a short break during off-season. From the historic landmarks of Palma to the stunning coves and coastal scenery, this itinerary ensures an unforgettable Mediterranean escape. Whether you're drawn to history, nature, or simply the beauty of the sea, Mallorca has something magical to offer.
